Prior to the creation of any outreach programme, the social media landscape can be analysed to ensure the content and language of engagement resonates with patients and caregivers we are seeking to reach to ensure a more patient-centric approach. Marie Emms et al. of Syneos Health identify how, in order to effectively reach patients on forums, we first need to understand the evolution of social media and the rise of patients seeking to understand their disease and treatment options through these channels.
