SGS’s Quality, Expertise & Reliability Recognized at CRO Leadership Awards 2020

SGS, a leading life sciences, pharmaceutical, clinical and bioanalytical contract solutions provider, is proud to announce that it has been recognized in the CRO (Contract Research Organization) Leadership Awards 2020. This is the fourth consecutive year that SGS has been recognized in the Awards, gaining wins in five categories – Capabilities, Compatibility, Expertise, Quality and Reliability.

The CRO Leadership Awards, developed in 2012 by the business journal Life Science Leader and Clinical Leader, are determined through impartial market research based on feedback from sponsor companies that utilize outsourcing services.

“We are extremely proud to have once again achieved wins in five categories, particularly as recognition is based on real customer feedback and experience,” said Johan Pype, Managing Director, SGS Benelux. “This recognition is testament to the dedication of our very talented employees, the depth of our clinical expertise and our company-wide commitment to consistently delivering high quality to our customers.”

Award winners are determined using primary market research conducted by Industry Standard Research (ISR). Sponsors provide ratings of CROs based on recent outsourced projects, and this experiential feedback is analyzed by sponsor company size to reveal leading CROs in different performance categories.

“Industry Standard Research asks the research participants to provide experiential, not perceptual, feedback on their involvement with contract suppliers over the past 18 months. The data enables users of ISR’s market research to make confident business decisions based on the experiences of their industry peers,” said Andrew Schafer, President of Industry Standard Research.

SGS provides clinical research and bioanalytical testing with a specific focus on early stage development and biometrics. Delivering solutions in Europe and the US, SGS offers clinical trial (phase I to IV) services encompassing drug development consultancy, clinical project management and monitoring, biometrics, PK/PD modeling and simulation, and regulatory and medical affairs services.

SGS has its own Clinical Pharmacology Unit in Belgium, including a human challenge testing facility and two phase I patient units based in Belgium and Hungary. SGS has a wealth of expertise in First-In-Human studies, viral challenge testing, biosimilar and complex PK/PD studies, with a therapeutic focus on infectious diseases, vaccines, and respiratory.
