Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), an umbrella term for chronic intestinal disorders with two subtypes: Ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD), the result of an unrelenting, severe inflammatory response against an environmental trigger in a genetically susceptible host, with a lifelong and remitting course. Maxim Kosov and John Riefler at PSI CRO AG show some perspectives of clinical trials in inflammatory bowel disease.
