In the past, the research nurse had little time to read the entire protocol and, to manage scheduled visits, they developed nursing summaries of clinical trials. Discussing nursing summaries can help assess research workload, allowing for better planning and resource allocation. Documenting care is not only a legal obligation but, above all, a mature, responsible, and ethical way of acting professionally. Properly documenting is the best way to protect the two components of healthcare: the citizen, on the one hand, and the professional, on the other. Michela Melissa Stuccillo and Diana Sufragiu at VitaSalute San Raffaele University clarify the experience of creating the nursing records as an essential tool for collecting good quality data in clinical trials.
