Among adolescents, lifetime prevalence estimates for major depressive disorder (MDD) range as high as 8-11%. Depressed adolescents are also at risk for psychiatric hospitalization, suicidal ideation and completed suicide. Miranda Porter at INC Research provides an overview of why researchers and clinicians emphasize the immediate and critical need for clinical trials investigating safety and efficacy of AAs in adolescent MDD.
